I heard such good things about the author and this book - all good ratings. I recommended it to my book club and none of us liked it at all. The writing is rather amateurish, the characters are drawn too broadly and the ending is a bit too pat. Add to this the fact that the 'hero' is not really a good guy - he has overblown anger management issues and literally gets away with murder. I would not recommend this to anyone.Product details

Luke's Dream keeps you involved with the characters and guessing what is going to happen next. Loved the mystery and love story. I just couldn't put it down. I hope he continues writing. A spin off of this novel would be great.
Luke's Dream was a very exciting novel to read. I enjoyed it very much. Brian Daniels did a great job describing all of the characters and made me feel like I was back in the great state of Maine. I can't wait to read his next book.
Luke's Dream was one of those books I just couldn't put down. It engaged me from the beginning and had me hooked through its entirety, with the combination of a romantic love story interwoven with suspenseful mystery. Brian Daniels' ability to take you to all of the beautifully scenic Maine points and engage you with characters that captivated and intrigued is certainly impressive - I recommend the journey to all!
This book is a lot of fun to read. It's written with a lot of character and vivid geographical detail. I enjoyed it so much that, even though I liked how it ended, I was disappointed that the story was over. It was difficult to put down with the short chapters; I'd finish a chapter, reading before bed, look at the clock and think "...one more..." again and again. I look forward to reading more work by Brian Daniels.
